Joint Statement of The Eleventh ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting

1. We, the Ministers of Education of the Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), met on 20 November 2020 for the Eleventh ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting (ASED), which was convened online and in Manila, Philippines. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña , Director General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) of the Philippines.
   
   
2. We support the theme of the Philippines’ Chairmanship Transforming Education the ASEAN Way: Forging Partnerships in the Age of Global Disruptions. We appreciate that this theme holds particular significance, at a time when the region’s education systems are grappling with the severe disruptions caused by COVID-19. As we transform this crisis into an opportunity to reimagine and transform education, we pledge to build and strengthen partnerships at all levels and with all relevant stakeholders.
