JAKARTA, 10 July 2023 – The 13th issue of the ASEAN Economic Integration Brief (AEIB) was released today.

This edition presents a special article from Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn on the future of the ASEAN Economic Community as well as the priorities to consider moving forward. In addition, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and the Chair of the ASEAN Economic Community Council 2023 Airlangga Hartarto shared his views in realising ASEAN as the epicentrum of growth as well as ASEAN’s Priority Economic Deliverables this year.

Despite facing multifaceted global challenges, ASEAN has started works in preparing a solid foundation to address emerging issues such as digital transformation and sustainable economic development. Steady progress has also been made in the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025 as ASEAN continues to show strong economic resilience.

Regular features of the AEIB such as an overview of the regional economic outlook, the latest updates on the AEC, and the latest key economic indicators relevant to the region are also included in this issue.
