Decree

On the approval of the transfer of 425 tariff lines transfer from the

Temporary Exclusion List (TL) to the Inclusion List (IL) for Trade Area (AFTA)

–      Pursuant to the law on the Government of the Lao People Democratic Republic;

–      Pursuant to the agreement on Common Effective Preferential Tariff Scheme for AFTA, obligations and commitment of ASEAN member countries on Preferential Tariff for Establish of AFTA;

–      Pursuant to the decision of the Government at the Extraordinary Session held on 18/7/2001;

–      Taking into account the recommendation of the Finance Minister No. 2115/MoF, dated 20/12/2001.

Prime Minister of Lao PDR decreed:

Article 1:         The enactment for the transfer of the second installment of 425 tariff lines from the Temporary Exclusion List (TL) into Inclusion List (IL) of the Common Effective Preferential Tariff Scheme for the AFTA and the grant of preferences to the said goods under the Agreement on the Common Effective Preferential Tariff Scheme for the AFTA. The grant of preferences to the said goods is effective from 01/01/2002 to 31/12/2008.

Article 2:         The Minister of Finance shall issue the guidelines to implement the present decree that shall be consistent with the provision of ASEAN Agreement on the Common Effective Preferential Tariff scheme for the AFTA.

Article 3:    Ministers, Chairman of the Committee, and Ministries-Equivalent to Agencies, Provincial Governors, Mayor of the Vientiane Municipality and Governors of the special zone, and concern parties shall recognize strictly implement the present Decree.

Article 4:         The present Decree is effective from 01/01/2002 to 31/12/2008.
