Decree of the Government
On promulgating the Viet Nam’s Products and Tariff rates to implement the Common Effective Preferential Tariff Scheme (CEPT) for the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) for year 2001

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated 30th September 1992;
Pursuant to the Law on Import- Export Duties dated 26th December 1991; Law on amendments of some articles of Law on Import- Export Duties dated 5th July 1993 and Law on amendments of some articles of Law on Import- Export Duties No. 04/1998/QH10 dated 20th May 1998;
Pursuant to the Resolution No. 292/NQ-UBTVQH9 dated 8th November 1995 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Viet Nam’s Tariff Reduction Program for the Implementation of the ASEAN Agreement on Common Effective Preferential Tariff (CEPT) Scheme;
In accordance with the proposal of the Minister of Finance,
Decrees
Article 1. To promulgate along with the Decree the Viet Nam’s Products and Tariff rates to implement the Common Effective Preferential Tariff Scheme (CEPT) for ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) for year 2001.
Article 2. The Ministry of Finance shall provide guidance on the implementation of the Decree pursuant to the provisions of the ASEAN Agreement to implement the Common Effective Preferential Tariff Scheme (CEPT) for ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA).
Article 3. The Decree shall come into effect since 1st January 2001. The Ministers, the Heads of Ministerial – level Agencies and Organs under the Government and the Chairmen of the People’s Committees of the provinces and cities under the Central Authority are responsible for implementing the Decree.
