The ASEAN-Russia Expert Consultations on Carbon Markets was held virtually on 19 March 2025. The Consultations served as a platform for AMS and Russia to exchange experience on developing carbon markets as well as to discuss prospects of cooperation between ASEAN and Russia in this area. In keeping with the theme of the Sochi Declaration in 2016, Russia initiated a study to bring out the existing strengths of ASEAN-Russia trade and investment cooperation and the prospects for deepening trade, investment, and economic cooperation further in the coming years. The study was jointly conducted by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) in Jakarta and the Center for Strategic Research at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy (RFTA) in Moscow. The ASEAN-Russia Regulatory Approaches to Waste Management and Circular Economy Workshop was conducted virtually on 25 July 2022. This workshop is the first ASEAN-Russia initiative aimed at studying the responsible resource management and promotion of the use of secondary resources as part of circular economy.
