ASEAN Single Window Steering Committee (ASWSC)

14th Meeting of ASEAN Customs Directors-General, Cebu City, the Philippines, 9-11 November 2005.

The ASWSC oversees the overall coordination and required synchronisation of actions at the national level and regional level policy to promote effective implementation and operation of the ASW, and considers the needs of future development of the ASW. The ASWSC would also provide guidance to the issues at the TWG and the LWG, particularly on policy-related issues, when required. 

Two (2) regular meetings.

The ASWSC shall report to ASEAN Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM) and ASEAN Customs Directors-General.

Singapore

1.1

The Working Group on Technical Matters for The ASW (TWG)

12-14 March 2007 in Manila, the Philippines.

The TWG is established to assist the ASWSC in the following:

• Developing Business Process, and Work Flow;

• Harmonising and standardising related trade, Customs data and documentation; and

• Adopting Information and Communication Technology for trade facilitation.

Currently, four (4) regular meetings and is under review for reducing the number and length of meetings. 

The TWG shall report to the ASWSC. 

Malaysia

1.2

The Working Group on Legal and Regulatory Matters for The ASW (LWG)

12-14 March 2007, in Manila, the Philippines.

The LWG is established to assist the ASWSC in constructing the legal framework for the establishment, operation and expansion, if any, of the ASW. This is the ad-hoc meeting which is required as necessary.

*) As the LWG has already finalised and legally scrubbed the PLF, the 24th LWG Meeting agreed that future LWG meetings will be held as and when required.

The LWG shall report to the ASWSC, when required.
