Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn attended the 28th AEM-CER Consultation held today. The meeting agreed to further promote economic cooperation between ASEAN, Australia, and New Zealand and to create accessible resources to ensure that businesses, especially MSMEs, understand the benefits of the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA) and leverage it to increase their competitiveness.

The meeting also welcomed the signing of the 2nd Protocol to Amend the Agreement Establishing AANZFTA earlier by Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.
