Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn attended the 9th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Minerals (AMMin) held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, today. Chaired by the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Cambodia, the meeting discussed ways to further strengthen ASEAN cooperation in minerals and took stock of the progress in the implementation and monitoring of the ASEAN Minerals Cooperation Action Plan (AMCAP).
The 9th AMMin followed by a High-Level Dialogue to discuss ‘Promoting ASEAN as a Sustainable Minerals Investment Destination: Opportunities and Challenges in the Region’s Critical Minerals Value Chains.’ Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development, International Energy Agency, UN ESCAP, Coordinating Committee for Geoscience Programmes in East and Southeast Asia CCOP, ASEAN Federation on Mining Association, and McKinsey attended the dialogue.
