Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn today attended the 3rd Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA)’s Extraordinary Governing Board Meeting held at the ASEAN Secretariat. In his remarks, Dr. Kao highlighted the important work of ASEAN in crafting the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and the four Strategic Plans, as well as encouraged ERIA to contribute to the realisation of the Joint Vision Statement on ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation Trusted Partners and the Implementation Plan of the Joint Vision Statement, following the adoption at the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit in Tokyo, Japan, in December 2023. Dr. Kao also called on ERIA to support Lao PDR’s Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2024 under the theme of ‘ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.”
