Today, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, attended the 56th ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) – 27th ASEAN Investment Area (AIA) Council, convened in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
The Meeting exchanged views on regional strategy and initiatives to ensure that ASEAN remains an attractive destination for investments, while keeping up with modern investment practices and emerging developments, particularly in promoting sustainable development. At the sidelines, Ministers also signed the 5th Protocol to Amend the ASEAN Comprehensive Investment Agreement (ACIA), an important milestone in advancing the ASEAN economic integration.
