Secretary-General of ASEAN briefs the Diplomatic Corps and the media on key takeaways from the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings in Lao, PDR

Today, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn briefed the diplomatic corps and the media on the key outcomes of the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM), Post-Ministerial Conferences (PMC), 25th ASEAN Plus Three Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, 14th EAS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, 31st ASEAN Regional Forum and Related Meetings, held in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on 24-27 July 2024. Representatives of the ASEAN Committee in Third Countries and International Organisations (ACTCs) from various parts of the world also joined the Briefing virtually. He shared the key takeaways from the series of meetings, which demonstrated ASEAN Centrality, the relevance of ASEAN-led mechanisms, and continued support from external partners for ASEAN Community building efforts as ASEAN is developing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and its Strategic Plans. The series of meetings also laid the groundwork for the upcoming 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits in Lao PDR, in October of this year. The Briefing was livestreamed via the ASEAN Secretariat Youtube Channel for the general public.
