Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn kicked off his official working visit to Brunei Darussalam today by visiting Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), where he delivered a keynote speech on “Cooperation, Collaboration and the Youth: The Bedrock of Innovation and Sustainability” to students and faculty members. Dr. Kao was welcomed by Vice Chancellor of UBD Dr. Hazri Haji Kifle, who also delivered opening remarks.

In his speech, Dr. Kao highlighted the ASEAN Leaders’ recognition of youth’s contribution to ASEAN’s Community building efforts, and also underscored the important roles played by the ASEAN youth in achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and in advancing the digital economy. Dr. Kao encouraged students and graduates to learn more about ASEAN.
