Secretary-General of ASEAN Delivers CIL ASEAN Distinguished Lecture in Singapore

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today delivered the annual Centre for International Law of the National University of Singapore (CIL) ASEAN Distinguished Lecture at the Orchard Hotel, in Singapore. The lecture was moderated by CIL Governing Board Member Ambassador Ong Keng Yong.

 

Speaking on the topic “ASEAN: A bright spot in a darkening world,” Dr. Kao highlighted ASEAN’s contributions to promoting regional peace and stability, and also elaborated on ASEAN’s success in adopting the “ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future,” which provides a long-term trajectory for the next 20-years. “ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future” reflects ASEAN’s determination not only to adapt but also to proactively shape the regional architecture. The lecture was attended by government officials, academics and members of the diplomatic community, among others.
