Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today opened the 9th ASEAN Media Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In his Opening Remarks, Dr. Kao noted the key role played by the media in conveying the ASEAN story and narrative to the ASEAN people as well as to international audiences. He encouraged media leaders and participants to leverage on the AMF as a credible podium to exchange constructive thoughts and ideas. Dr. Kao also encouraged media representatives from Timor-Leste, as the newest member of ASEAN, to further strengthen the richness of ASEAN’s narrative for the rest of the region and beyond to hear and understand the insights from Timor-Leste.
