Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn delivered remarks at the Special Session to commemorate the 50^th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, and the 20^th Year of ASEAN-Japan Transport Partnership (AJTP) today in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. Dr Kao welcomed the New Luang Prabang Action Plan of AJTP 2024-2033 as the successor of the Pakse Action Plan 2014-2023, which would be implemented under 5 policy pillars, namely (i) resilient supply chains, (ii) enhancing people-to-people connectivity, (iii) decarbonisation and sustainable transport, (iv) inclusive and accessible transport, and (v) safe and secure transport. Dr Kao also encouraged participants to leverage on the occasion of the 50^th commemorative year of ASEAN-Japan dialogue relations to strengthen partnership in the transport sector.
