Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, delivered a special address at the Opening Ceremony of the ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Summit brought together key stakeholders with an aim to foster deeper policy dialogue between governments and the business community. In his remarks, Dr. Kao emphasized the importance of addressing the profound risks and challenges that AI may bring to the people, calling for urgent and coordinated global action to ensure that AI technologies advance human welfare and serve the public good. The ceremony also heard a keynote address by The Honourable Anwar Ibrahim, ASEAN Chair for 2025 and Prime Minister of Malaysia as well as welcoming remarks by YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital of Malaysia.
