On his first day in Tokyo, Japan, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, participated in the Handover Ceremony of the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) from Lao PDR to Malaysia, followed by a luncheon with the ACT.  Dr. Kao thanked the Committee for its role and contribution towards raising the profile of ASEAN in Japan and enhancing ASEAN-Japan relations. Dr. Kao updated the Committee on the latest developments in the work of ASEAN and shared his thoughts on ways to further strengthen ASEAN-Japan cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as well as encouraged the Committee to continue playing an active role in Japan.
