Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia, on the margins of the Thirty-First ASEAN Transport Ministers’ Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. Dr. Kao congratulated Cambodia on the opening of the new Techo International Airport and commended Cambodia’s leadership in the signing of the ASEAN-New Zealand Air Services Agreement. He further appreciated Cambodia’s progress toward ratifying the Montreal Convention 1999 and encouraged continued efforts toward the early ratification of the ASEAN-EU Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement (AE CATA). He encouraged ongoing discussions with Viet Nam on the Singapore-Kunming Rail Link (SKRL) realignment to unlock the benefits of enhanced regional connectivity, trade facilitation, and seamless cross-border movement.
