Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr Kao Kim Hourn, held a pull aside talk with Minister for Digital Transformation of Japan, Kono Taro, on the sidelines of the Commemorative Summit for the 50th ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation. In their meeting, Minister Kono Taro informed Dr. Kao on Japan’s intention to co-host, together with Singapore, a Ministerial Session on Data Governance in Asia on the margins of the ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting in February 2024 in Singapore. They further exchanged views on how ASEAN and Japan can deepen their collaboration in the realm of digital transformation.
