Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, joined other distinguished panelists in the World Leaders Session: Acting Together for a Better World at the Jeju Peace Forum today. In this session, SG Dr. Kao discussed the most critical challenges to peace and prosperity and the role of ASEAN in addressing them, including by engaging external partners. He highlighted the challenges from strategic competition among major powers and climate change that have impacted ASEAN and its peoples and emphasised that ASEAN’s role as the primary driving force in shaping the regional architecture will continue to grow in the future as addressing these and other challenges facing our region will need more instead of less cooperation and collaboration.
