On his first day in Hiroshima, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with Deputy Mayor of Hiroshima City, Kojinbara Masashi, at Hiroshima City Hall. Both sides exchanged views on ASEAN-Japan relations including possible mutual exchanges and sister city cooperation between Hiroshima City and other cities in the ASEAN Member States. Dr. Kao encouraged Hiroshima City to contribute to enhancing ASEAN-Japan cooperation, including supporting ASEAN’s efforts in nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation by further promoting the Treaty of Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone (SEANWFZ Treaty).
