Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, started his first engagement of a series of meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR, by meeting with Lao PDR’s Minister of Industry and Commerce and Chair of the ASEAN Economic Ministers’ (AEM) Meeting 2024, H.E. Malaithong Kommasith. Both sides discussed the progress of key achievements under Lao PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024, with particular emphasis on the delivery of the Priority Economic Deliverables.

Dr. Kao expressed his appreciation to Lao PDR for their excellent arrangements and warm hospitality in hosting the 56th AEM and Related Meetings and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting them in ensuring the successful organisation of the event.
