On 13 June 2024, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr Kao Kim Hourn, and Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Andrea Palm, reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative efforts in tackling public health challenges across the ASEAN region. The discussions focused on critical public health issues facing the region, with a shared commitment to collaborate on much-needed areas such as infectious disease prevention, pandemic preparedness, and ensuring equitable access to healthcare.
