Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with H.E. Wopke Hoekstra, European Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth, on the sidelines of the 18th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment (AMME) in Langkawi, Malaysia. They discussed ways to strengthen ASEAN-EU cooperation on environment and climate change, including the implementation of the ASEAN-EU Work Programme, preparations towards COP30, and looked for opportunities for joint initiatives in biodiversity conservation, nature-based solutions, and carbon market development.
