Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn met with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan Ichiro Miyashita on the sidelines of the 45th ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF) Meeting and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dr Kao extended ASEAN’s congratulations to Japan on the occasion of the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation and for the progress in the implementation of the ASEAN-Japan Midori Cooperation Plan (AJMCP). ASEAN acknowledged Japan’s continued support to the ASEAN cooperation on food, agriculture, and forestry through various platforms such as the ASEAN Plus Three Cooperation Framework, ASEAN-JICA Technical Cooperation, Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund, and MAFF-Japan.
