Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI), H.E. Saito Ken.. During the meeting, both sides discussed the implementation progress of the Future Design and Action Plan of Innovative and Sustainable ASEAN – Japan Economic Co-Creation 2023 – 2033 and possible economic deliverables for the next ASEAN Economic Minister – Ministry of Trade, Economy and Industry of Japan (AEM-METI) Consultation scheduled in September 2024. In addition, both sides exchanged views on the measures to promote the effective implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement and the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP) Agreement to further enhance economic integration in the region.
