Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, had a brief engagement with the Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the United States, Michael G. DeSombre, on the sidelines of the 20th East Asia Summit, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Both sides exchanged views on ways to follow up on the key outcomes of the Summit, including the implementation of the ASEAN-United States Leaders’ Joint Vision Statement to Promote Safer, Stronger, and More Prosperous ASEAN and the United States.
