Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today met with Chief Executive Officer of PT Krakatau Steel (PTKS) Dr. Muhamad Akbar and his delegation at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat. They discussed PTKS’s role in Indonesia’s steel industry and its integrated industrial ecosystem, including industrial infrastructure, logistics and supporting businesses, and also exchanged views on opportunities to contribute to ASEAN’s broader economic and industrial development. They also discussed potential avenues for cooperation to advance the objectives of the ASEAN Minerals Development Vision (AMDV) 2045 and the ASEAN Minerals Cooperation Action Plan IV (AMCAP-IV) 2026–2030, while reaffirming ASEAN’s commitment to engaging constructively with industry stakeholders in line with established ASEAN processes and practices.
