On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with Vice-Chairman and President for Strategic Growth of Mastercard International, Jon M. Huntsman Jr. Both sides discussed the potential for deepening public-private collaboration, particularly during Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025 under the theme ‘Inclusivity and Sustainability.’ Dr. Kao invited Mastercard to engage in key ASEAN initiatives to advance, among others, financial literacy, green finance, and cross-border payment connectivity in the region.
