Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today joined other Ministers from ASEAN Member States and that of Dialogue Partners of ASEAN in the 4th Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Ministers’ Meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Meeting underscored the importance of deepening trade and investment relations and building economic resilience as well as reaffirmed its full commitment to actively promote the RCEP Agreement to ensure that it is effectively utilised by businesses in the region.

The Meeting also welcomed the adoption of the Terms of Reference (TOR) of the Ad Hoc Accession Working Group (AWG), reaffirming RCEP’s standing as an open and inclusive regional trade agreement. The Meeting also welcomed the adoption of the Guidelines for the RCEP Stakeholder Engagement, which provides guidance for collective engagement with relevant stakeholders.
