Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today paid a courtesy call on H.E. José Manuel Ramos-Horta, President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, at the Presidential Palace, in Dili, on the margins of his working visit to Timor Leste to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the Restoration of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

The meeting underscored shared priorities on ASEAN Community-building and regional integration, including Timor-Leste’s full integration into ASEAN. Dr. Kao extended his heartfelt congratulations on the 24th anniversary of the Restoration of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste and reaffirmed the ASEAN Secretariat’s steadfast support for Timor-Leste’s full integration into the ASEAN Community.
