Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today received a courtesy call by the Staff Director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee of the United States, Mr. Damian Murphy, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat. They exchanged views on ways and means to further enhance the ASEAN-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, particularly on political-security and economic cooperation between ASEAN and the U.S. They also touched upon matters related to the Providing Appropriate Recognition and Treatment Needed to Enhance Relations (PARTNER) with ASEAN Act, which is currently being considered by the U.S. Senate.
