Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today welcomed the Governor of Victoria, Australia, Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat. Both sides recalled their meeting in Melbourne, Australia, in March 2024, during which the Governor of Victoria hosted the ASEAN Leaders’ Lunch as part of the official program for the 2024 ASEAN-Australia Special Summit. Both sides exchanged views on ASEAN-Australia cooperation, including collaboration with the state of Victoria in contributing to the ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The discussions took place in light of the outcomes of the 5th ASEAN-Australia Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 28 October 2025, and ahead of the 5th anniversary of the ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership next year.
