Secretary-General of ASEAN shares views on ASEAN-India relations with India medias

Today at the ASEAN Secretariat, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn received an eight-member media delegation from India. Dr. Kao shared his views on the contributions of ASEAN-India dialogue relations to ASEAN’s community-building efforts and underscored the important role of media in encouraging greater cooperation between ASEAN and India, especially in the areas of cultural exchanges, connectivity and people-to-people ties, among others. The delegation is currently visiting Indonesia and Malaysia as part of the ASEAN-India Media Exchange Visit. Since the initiation of the ASEAN-India Media Exchange Visit in 2004, and with the support of the Government of India and the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Information (SOMRI), more than 160 media personnel from various media outlets of ASEAN Member States have visited India and more than 70 media practitioners from India have visited various ASEAN countries.
