At the invitation of the Chair of the ASEAN Economic Ministers for 2023 and Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Dr (HC) Zulkifli Hasan SE, MM, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn will lead the ASEAN Secretariat delegation to attend the 55th ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting and Related Meetings on 17-22 August in Semarang, Indonesia.

Dr Kao will also attend the AEM-37th ASEAN Free Trade Area Council Meeting, the AEM-26th ASEAN Investment Area Council Meeting, and AEM Consultations with External Partners. The series of ministerial meetings will discuss the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025, foster ASEAN economic relations with external partners, and consider initiatives to enhance ASEAN’s economic integration towards an inclusive, resilient, and transformative regional economy.

On the sidelines, Dr Kao is also expected to hold bilateral and pull-aside meetings with various ministers.
