At the invitation of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (NUS), Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn will be visiting Singapore from 27-29 February 2024, where he is invited to deliver the S.T. Lee Distinguished Lecture to a group of students and scholars focusing on ‘ASEAN’s Role in the Evolving Regional Architecture,’ on 28 February 2024. The S.T. Lee Distinguished Lecture series is a prestigious program that brings prominent scholars to Singapore to address critical international issues. While in Singapore, Dr. Kao will also take the opportunity to meet with some high-level figures from the government and think tanks in Singapore.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
