At the invitation of Chair of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Council 2024 and Lao PDR’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of Suanesavanh Vignaket, the Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn, will lead the ASEAN Secretariat delegation to participate in the 31st ASCC Council Meeting and Related Meetings, in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR, on 23-24 March 2024.

The ASCC Council will discuss strategic directions in ensuring a responsive, inclusive, and sustainable ASEAN, as well as exchange views on the development of the ASCC Strategic Plan, which will be an integral part of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. During his stay in Luang Prabang, Dr Kao is scheduled to participate in the ASCC Council Interface with Ministers of ASCC Sectoral Bodies of Lao PDR, as well as the Launch of ASCC Database for Monitoring and Evaluation System.
