At the invitation of H.E. Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the European Commission, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will lead the ASEAN Secretariat’s delegation to participate in the 24th ASEAN-European Union Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) and the 3rd EU-Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum (EU-IPMF), on 1- 2 February 2024, in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.
The 24th AEMM will see the adoption of a Joint Ministerial Statement that will map the future direction of the ASEAN-EU Strategic Partnership that is substantive and mutually beneficial. The ASEAN-EU Ministers will also take stock of the implementation of the Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN-EU Strategic Partnership (2023-2027).
During his stay in Brussels, Dr. Kao will also meet with several Foreign Ministers from EU Member States, European Commissioners and other senior EU officials to discuss and explore potential ASEAN-EU cooperations in shared areas of interest.
