At the invitation of The Honourable Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Chair of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Council Meeting 2025 and Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, will lead the ASEAN Secretariat delegation to participate in the 34th ASCC Council Meeting and Related Meetings, to be held in Selangor, Malaysia, on 7-8 October 2025.
The Meetings will discuss ASCC’s strategic directions for the ASCC to ensure a dynamic, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable ASEAN. Dr. Kao will deliver remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the ASCC High Level Forum 2025, which will be convened for the first time. The ASCC High Level Forum will showcase the ASCC’s milestones, and rich cultural diversity and shared identity through panel discussions and an arts and crafts bazaar.
