At the invitation of Minister of Post and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Cambodia Dr Chea Vandeth, the Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn will lead the ASEAN Secretariat delegation to participate in the Digital Government Forum (DGF) 2024, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 11-12 March 2024. The Forum aims to provide an opportunity for ministers, digital leaders, and other participants from the ASEAN Member States and beyond to share knowledge and experience, especially in preparation for an inclusive digital future. During his stay in Phnom Penh, Dr Kao is scheduled to meet with a number of the cabinet members of the Royal Government of Cambodia, including Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council of Development of Cambodia (CDC) Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Keut Rith and Minister of Post and Telecommunications Dr Chea Vandeth.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. ASEAN organs always strive to achieve ASEAN’s goals and objectives, the Secretary-General of ASEAN and the ASEAN Secretariat shall be functioned as coordinating Secretariat to help facilitate effective decision-making withing and amongst ASEAN bodies. In addition, each Member State shall appoint a Permanent Representative to liaise with Secretary-General of ASEAN and the ASEAN Secretariat
