Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today had an honor to welcome President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, H.E. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat. This historic visit, the first of its kind by a Brazilian Head of State, underscored the growing significance of ASEAN–Brazil Sectoral Dialogue Relations, which was established in 2022. It also comes ahead of another milestone, which is President Lula’s upcoming participation in the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as the guest of the ASEAN Chair, marking the first time a Brazilian President joins a high-profile ASEAN event.
