The 12th Meeting of ASEAN-Canada Joint Cooperation Committee (ACJCC), convened today at ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, discussed the progress of ASEAN-Canada Relations, including the status of implementation of Plan of Action to Implement the Joint Declaration on ASEAN-Canada Enhanced Partnership (2021-2025), as well as possible areas of future cooperation between ASEAN and Canada to further advance the ASEAN-Canada Strategic Partnership.
Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, Nur Izzah Wong Mee Choo, and Ambassador of Canada to ASEAN, Vicky Singmin, co-chaired the Meeting. Permanent Representatives to ASEAN and its representatives as well as their respective delegations were in attendance along with representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat. Ambassador of Timor-Leste to ASEAN also attended as Observer. Further, Paul Thoppil, Canada’s Indo-Pacific Trade Representative was also in attendance.
