In order to celebrate Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2022 under the theme “ASEAN A.C.T.: Addressing Challenges Together”, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, under the framework of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat and with the support of the Government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) will jointly organize the 1st ASEAN Youth Dialogue under the theme “Youth in the Era of IR 4.0: Opportunities and Challenges in Post-Pandemic Recovery” to be held on 25-26 July 2022 in Sim Reap Province.

The 1st ASEAN Youth Dialogue aims to provide a platform for ASEAN youth and ROK youth to engage in policy discourse and bring about recommendations on regional policies and exchange views in the form of dialogue with the ASEAN-ROK Youth Ministers and key dialogue partners. The dialogue will focus on the ways stakeholders can collaborate with youth to reap the benefits and opportunities arising from the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and to address the challenges of global pandemics. The Youth delegates will be able to learn from each other by taking the advantage of technological, economic, and social opportunities in order to strengthen cooperation between ASEAN and ROK.

The program will produce policy recommendations on common issues which will be submitted to the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Youth (SOMY), the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Youth Plus Three (SOMY+3), and the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Youth (AMMY) to foster the implementation of the ASEAN Work Plan on Youth 2021-2025, the ASEAN Plus Three Work Plan on Youth 2021-2025 and the ASEAN-ROK Action Plan 2021-2025.

The 1st ASEAN Youth Dialogue will be attended by approximately 200 participants, including ASEAN Youth and ROK Ministers, senior representatives of international agencies, senior youth governors, youth delegates, government agencies, NGOs-civil society, research institutes, entrepreneurs, private sectors, observers, ASEAN entities, UN agencies and relevant partners.
