Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn attended the 26th ASEAN-Japan Summit held in Jakarta earlier today. The meeting adopted the Joint Statement on the Establishment of the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership which reaffirms both sides’ commitment to further strengthen relations based on mutual trust, respect, benefit, and equal partnership. Both sides looked forward to the convening and substantive deliverables of the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit to be held in Tokyo in December of this year.
