The ASEAN Labour Ministers convened today for the 29th ASEAN Labour Ministers Meeting (ALMM) in Bangkok, Thailand, and were welcomed by H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Opening Ceremony also featured remarks by H.E. Julapun Amornvivat, Minister of Labour.
H.E. San Lwin, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASCC, along with Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Mr. Iori Kato, Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Mr. František Ružička, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) also joined the Opening Ceremony.
The 29th ALMM was attended by all ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Secretariat. The 29th ALMM was preceded by the Meetings of ASEAN and ASEAN Plus Three Senior Labour Officials on 24-25 August 2026.
