Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, delivered remarks at the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit to Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN-Australia Dialogue Relations held in Melbourne today. The Special Summit reviewed the achievements of ASEAN-Australia relations over the past five decades and discussed the future direction of the relationship. The Leaders of ASEAN and Australia adopted the ASEAN-Australia Leaders’ Vision Statement – Partnership for Peace and Prosperity and the Melbourne Declaration – A Partnership for the Future, affirming the commitments of both sides to strengthen the ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which is meaningful, substantive, and mutually beneficial.
