- The Seventeenth ASEAN and China Transport Ministers Meeting (17th ATM+China) was held on 8 November 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Transport of Thailand and H.E. Mr. DAI Dongchang, Vice Minister for Transport of the People’s Republic of China. The Meeting was preceded by the Seventeenth ASEAN and China Senior Transport Officials Meeting (17th STOM+China) held on 6 November 2018.
2. The Ministers highly appreciated the speech delivered by Premier LI Keqiang of the State Council of China at the 20th China-ASEAN Summit held in Manila in November, 2017. In particular, the Premier’s proposal in his speech to effectively implement the revised Strategic Plan for ASEAN-China Transport Cooperation to demonstrate the real difference that such cooperation can bring.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
