The 1st Expert Panel Meeting on the Feasibility in the Development of ASEAN Cultural Heritage List was convened on 16 August at the ASEAN Secretariat. The meeting was graced by Ambassador of India to ASEAN Jayant N Khobragade and chaired by the SOMCA Chair Lao PDR Phakhanxay Sikhanxay.

Co-organised by the ASEAN Secretariat and the Government of India, the meeting discussed the merits, opportunities, and the challenges in developing the ASEAN Cultural Heritage List. The list is envisaged to designate tangible and intangible cultural heritage assets of outstanding regional value that represent the diverse and rich heritage of the region.
