1. The Fourteenth ASEAN Economic Ministers-Russia (AEM-Russia) Consultation was held on 26 September 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Consultation was co-chaired by H.E. Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia and Mr. Nikita Kondratev, Director-General of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects, Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Federation. The Meeting also welcomed the participation of H.E. Filipus Nino Pereira, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste as an observer.

2. The Meeting noted that based on ASEAN’s preliminary statistics, two-way merchandise trade between ASEAN and Russia stood at USD 18.1 billion in 2024, representing an increase of 13.2 per cent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, according to Russian national statistics, FDI inflow from Russia to ASEAN reached USD 474 million, representing an increase of 20.8 per cent year-on-year.
