On 3 February 2026, H.E. San Lwin, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC), received the Director of the Centre for the Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle (CIMT) for a courtesy meeting at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat. The discussion focused on strengthening the engagement between ASEAN and the IMT-GT sub-regional framework, particularly in aligning CIMT initiatives with the ASCC Strategic Plan 2026–2030 in areas such as human resource development and environmental cooperation. The meeting also provided an opportunity to reinforce the role of sub-regional cooperation mechanisms as complementary platforms to support ASEAN’s efforts towards inclusive and sustainable community building.
